"A Song on Your Lips" Opening Day Stage Greeting

On February 28th, the film "A Song on Your Lips" premiered, with a stage greeting held at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo. Starring actress Yui Aragaki, who plays a substitute teacher and pianist, along with cast members Fumino Kimura and Kenta Kiritani, who play teachers, and director Takahiro Miki attended. Additionally, the 12 members playing choir club members appeared and performed a chorus of the theme song "Letter ~ Dear Fifteen-Year-Old You ~" (lyrics and music by Angela Aki).

Here, a surprise graduation gift awaited the students. As Aragaki read out the names of the twelve, she offered words of encouragement to each, then presented a graduation certificate to representative Yuri Tsunematsu. Having bonded deeply during a nationwide choir campaign across 17 cities after filming wrapped, some students' eyes welled up at this unexpected turn.

Director Miki commented, "I feel fortunate to have encountered this work. We are sustained by those around us and brought to life through our encounters. If watching this film warms your heart, I hope you'll share that warmth with those around you."

Aragaki shared how she was encouraged by a line in Director Miki's letter: "I want this to be a film that gives people the courage to take a step forward." She concluded, "I truly believe it has become just that kind of film. When I face difficult times, I want to watch this movie, draw courage from the students' singing, and move forward."

This film tells the story of a pianist (Aragaki) assigned as a temporary teacher to a middle school on a remote island. She meets 15-year-old students who, despite facing various struggles, strive to move forward and aim to participate in a choir competition. It is gaining attention as a modern-day "Twenty-Four Eyes," offering courage and inspiration to all generations.
