Fuji Heavy Industries exhibited 10 models at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show (October 29 - November 8, Tokyo Big Sight), including two concept cars making their world premiere.

 

At the October 28 press briefing, President Yasuyuki Yoshinaga stated, "The theme of this booth is 'New SUBARU Story' – a story of 'peace of mind' and 'joy' that begins with Subaru. Subaru views autonomous driving technology as driver assistance aimed at providing 'peace of mind and enjoyment'. We aim to evolve EyeSight ver.3, achieving highway traffic jam follow functionality in 2017 and highway autonomous driving in production vehicles by 2020."

 

The "SUBARU VIZIV FUTURE CONCEPT" embodies the future vision of Subaru's core value of 'peace of mind and enjoyment'. It incorporates autonomous driving technology and a power unit combining a next-generation hybrid system with a downsized turbo engine.

 

 

The "IMPREZA 5-DOOR CONCEPT" is a design concept car hinting at the next stage of Subaru's design philosophy, "Dynamic×Solid." The dynamic motif extending from front to rear and the tapered cabin express "Dynamic," while the sharp, refined surfaces used throughout express "Solid."

 

 

The WRX S4 SporVita concept combines the Italian words Sportiva (sporty) and Vita (life). It is a sports sedan for adults, embodying the desire to enrich the driver's car life through meticulously crafted premium interior space. This includes not only sporty performance but also exclusive genuine leather seats developed in collaboration with a renowned Italian leather manufacturer.
