The Coca-Cola System held an opening event at Shinjuku Station Square in Tokyo on November 2nd to commemorate the launch of its "Winter Song Bottle" campaign.
Having launched its "SAIKO!" campaign in 2015, the 100th anniversary of the Coca-Cola bottle, this Winter Song Bottle campaign—featuring classic winter tunes you'll want to hum along to—marks its grand finale.
Representing the artists who provided songs for the bottles, Tetsuya Komuro and DJ KOO appeared on stage. They shared stories about winter songs, including memories from the time of TRF's "Because It's a Cold Night...".
Komuro commented, "I've always been close to Coca-Cola. The contest that led to TM Network being scouted was also a Coca-Cola contest. I always have it in my studio." DJ KOO also emphasized his love for Coca-Cola, stating, "My stage drink is Coca-Cola too."
Next, impersonator Mikan joined the talk, and a song-guessing game began. Scanning the QR code on Komuro's selected winter song bottle with a smartphone displayed the "Happy Santa Movie" – a video of Santa's mouth. DJ KOO and Mikan then performed while posing questions. Both correctly guessed SPEED's "White Love" and TRF's "Because It's a Cold Night..."
The campaign's theme is "Make Someone Happy with Coca-Cola and Song," aiming to create joyful winter moments with loved ones like family and partners during the Christmas season through 12 classic winter songs.
The winter song bottles for "Coca-Cola," "Coca-Cola Zero," and "Coca-Cola Life" (500ml, 1.5L, and 2.0L PET bottles) launched on the same day. Nationwide broadcasts of the new TV commercials, the "Song Bottle" edition and the "2015 Christmas" edition, also commenced.
