KDDI held a product launch event titled "au Presentation for Moms" on December 3, 2015, ahead of the December 11, 2015 release of the world's first hand soap-washable smartphone, the "DIGNO rafre".

The event opened with appearances by Miki Fujimoto and Maomi Yuuki, both active as mom celebrities, who discussed parenting. Following an explanation of the new product, sales demonstrator Bambina Kamimura appeared and washed the DIGNO rafre with hand soap. Yuuki remarked, "Kids always touch things while eating. I always thought, 'If only I could wash it.'"

Next, Fujimoto and Yuki actually washed the DIGNO rafre. After washing a DIGNO rafre covered in fried chicken batter, Fujimoto remarked, "I've never washed a phone before, so it felt like I was doing something I shouldn't." Yuki, who washed a DIGNO rafre completely white with powdered sugar, commented, "The squeaky clean feeling is great."

They also introduced the "RealTimes for au" app, which lets you edit short videos. When Fujimoto tried it, she said, "I love how it neatly compiles everything."

Finally, Fujimoto shared, "It's really designed with moms in mind, easy to use, and I'm so grateful for that." Yuki added, "With previous phones, I had to scold my kids, 'Don't touch that!' But now I can say, 'Sure, touch it. I'll just wash it,' so we can relax more."
