Bridgestone Unveils "Less Fatigue" Tires Haruka Ayase Appears in Professor Attire

Bridgestone held a launch event for its new "Plays PX Series" product on January 8 at Laforet Museum Roppongi in Minato Ward, Tokyo.

First, Toshiharu Manabe, Executive Officer of Bridgestone and President of Bridgestone Tire Japan, took the stage. He stated the development intent: "By reducing the physical and mental burden on the driver, operation becomes more precise. This realizes new safety value."

Conceptualized around "reducing fatigue," the product incorporates innovations such as different shapes for the inner and outer sidewalls. This design reduces the burden of subtle steering adjustments during driving and prevents the accumulation of stress. Supervision was handled by Associate Professor Yasue Mitsukura from the Department of Systems Design Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University, a leading expert in brainwave signal analysis.

Actress Haruka Ayase, who appears in the new commercial airing from February, then appeared in a white coat and glasses costume. Ayase, who plays a professor in the "Tire Seminar" segment of the commercial, commented on her costume matching the image color of the Praise PX series: "This inner layer is Healing Purple, a color known for its soothing effects." She also shared her thoughts on playing the professor role: "I never really thought about the tires I drive on before, but now I know a bit more."

When asked about her daily "anti-fatigue habits," Ayase commented, "Since I'm often on my feet for long periods, I always soak in the bathtub and stretch after my bath. Also, during breaks between shoots, I rotate my shoulder blades and neck, and eat sweets." She shared her New Year's resolution: "I want to replace the tires on my everyday car with Playz and make this a less tiring year."
