Award Ceremony Scene
While many of Kore-eda's works feature original screenplays, "Our Little Sister" is based on the manga by Akimi Yoshida. The director, captivated by the story, adapted it into a film that portrays the bond between four sisters alongside the beautiful seasons of Kamakura.
Taking the stage, Director Kore-eda expressed his joy: "I've been making films for 20 years, but it's only been two years since I started being invited here. I always thought the Japan Academy Awards were something that happened to other people. I've been reminded that I want to work hard myself to help make this event even more wonderful."
The Best Animation Film Award went to "The Boy and the Beast" (Production: Nippon TV Network, Studio Chizu, KADOKAWA, Toho, VAP, Dentsu Inc., Yomiuri TV Broadcasting, D.N. Dream Partners, STV・MMT・SDT・CTV・HTV・FBS).
