The annual winter illumination event at Caretta Shiodome (Minato Ward, Tokyo) commenced at Caretta Plaza on November 15th. (Until February 14, 2019)
Last year, approximately 520,000 visitors were drawn to the theatrical space that appeared in Shiodome.

This year marks the 13th edition, featuring "Caretta Illumination 2018 Disney MovieNEX Princess Illumination," inspired by the worlds of the Disney films "Frozen" and "Tangled." Additionally, to commemorate the November 21 release of Disney/Pixar's blockbuster "Incredibles 2" MovieNEX, an illumination show inspired by the film will be specially screened once daily as an opening act, preceding the Princess Illumination.
Furthermore, on December 5 only, the popular "Beauty and the Beast"-themed illumination from last year will be shown as an encore.
On the opening day, singer Beverly was invited as a guest for the lighting ceremony.
Beverly counted down with children dressed in festive attire to illuminate the lights, then performed a mini-live concert amidst the sparkling illuminations.
She passionately sang "Let It Go," the signature song from "Frozen," and her own songs that became TV drama theme songs with her distinctive high-pitched voice, energizing the opening.
Beverly expressed her excitement, saying, "I'm so happy to sing amidst such beautiful illuminations. I might not be able to sleep tonight. I want to sing more!"
The "Frozen" illuminations, symbolized by the blue color of the Carré illuminations, use songs from the movie to romantically express the world of ice.
The "Rapunzel on the Tower" illumination features lanterns from the story placed on the venue's main tree, creating a moving atmosphere with a fantastical light show.
The two illuminations alternate weekly.
The opening act for "The Incredibles" features powerful light movements synchronized to its fast-paced music, offering a distinct worldview different from previous Caretta illuminations.
Throughout the event period, Caretta Shiodome will feature photo spots where visitors can enjoy the worlds of Disney films. Additionally, there will be installations featuring a massive appearance of Jack-Jack from "The Incredibles," a stamp rally, and a Twitter posting campaign.
