Recruiting participants for the second session of "Nikkei Discover Japan Academy in Nihonbashi"
The second "Nikkei Discover Japan Academy in Nihonbashi" will be held in Tokyo's Nihonbashi district in November. This marks the second iteration following last year's event. It is a practical workshop designed to learn traditional sensibilities and values cultivated in Japan and apply them to developing new products and services. Applications are being accepted until September 30.
The program runs over four sessions: November 1, 8, 15, and 22. Participation is limited to corporations, which must sponsor the academy. Teams of five members per company/organization will participate, with enrollment capped at 10 teams.

The sessions are structured by theme: Session 1 is the "Tradition Session," Session 2 is the "Ideation Session," Session 3 is the "Entrepreneurship Session," and Session 4 is the Presentation Session.
In the "Tradition Session," Discover Japan Editor-in-Chief Toshihiro Takahashi will engage in dialogue with a head of a flower arrangement school and a former chief priest, introducing Japan's unique values and sensibilities.
In the "Ideation Session," Hidetoshi Kurashige, Representative of Dentsu Inc. B Team, will listen to the creative philosophies passed down by masters of calligraphy and haiku, and explore how to translate these into new business ideas. The second part of the Ideation Session will feature a presentation by Nadezhda Kirillova of Dentsu Inc . B Team.
In the "Entrepreneurship Session," Masamichi Toyama, CEO of Smiles, teaches how to turn new ideas into business realities through lectures and workshops.
In the final session, each corporate team will present their business plans for new products or services. Each team will be supported by a tutor, aiming to develop more feasible business plans.
