Healthy Menu at Aoyama's Ginkgo Tree-Lined Avenue "Kanpo Healthy Café" Opens for a Limited Time
Kanpo Life Insurance opened the "Kanpo Healthy Café" in Minato Ward, Tokyo, for a limited time from January 23rd to 26th. The café offers healthy menus aimed at promoting health through food.
The menu features five dishes: winning recipes from last year's health recipe contest co-hosted by the company and recipe-sharing site "Cookpad," plus creations by food coordinator and registered dietitian Sayuri Sone. Served as part of the dining menu at "Royal Garden Cafe Aoyama" along the ginkgo tree-lined avenue of Meiji Jingu Gaien, with the cafe's cooperation.
At the opening event on the first day, the 23rd, President Masami Ishii stated, "Radio calisthenics began in 1928 with the launch of the then-Simplified Insurance program, and we have been committed to health promotion for over 80 years since. This time, we focused on food, leading to the provision of healthy menus. We hope you enjoy them." Guests included talent Mao Yuki and sports journalist Tetsuo Nakanishi. Yuki, speaking from her perspective as a pregnant woman, emphasized the importance of eating plenty of vegetables, getting adequate sleep, and engaging in light exercise. Nakanishi shared habits he developed during his career as a professional soccer player, such as considering the order in which he eats dishes and consciously chewing thoroughly. After tasting the meat-free "Tofu Veggie Taco Rice," Yuki remarked, "The moist texture of the tofu and the cheesy flavor go really well together. I want to make this at home." Nakanishi, tasting the vegetable-focused "Chunky Vegetable and Cheese Brown Stew," highly praised it, saying, "I was surprised by how the vegetables retained their texture while still locking in the umami flavor."
