In India's food service industry, delivery orders via smartphone apps are growing and attracting attention. This trend is expected to strengthen further due to changes in the lifestyles of urban residents. This was reported by NNA, which distributes economic information on Asia.

Domino's Pizza released its local ordering app about two years ago, and downloads have already surpassed one million. Of its delivery sales, which account for nearly half of its total revenue, 14% come via the internet or smartphone apps. Fasoz, which operates a total of 65 stores in Mumbai and other locations, also sees over 15% of its sales coming online. The company accepts orders via Twitter and already has over 3,000 followers.
This trend is likely driven by rising demand for ready-to-eat meals in urban areas, fueled by longer commutes and overtime hours among younger workers. Increased smartphone usage, surpassing TV viewing and computer internet use, also plays a significant role.
Businesses are actively adapting to these lifestyle shifts among Indians. GFA Global, which operates 78 Pizza Corner outlets in India, launched a dedicated delivery app just two months ago. CEO Joseph Sherian states, "Delivery customers are shifting from phone orders to online, and from online to mobile."
