The "Food Nations Meat Festival" (organized by the Food Nations Executive Committee, sponsored by Suntory Beverage & Food International, among others), featuring around 20 types of famous meat dishes from Japan and overseas, was held at Komazawa Olympic Park Central Square in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, during Golden Week from May 2nd to 6th. It attracted approximately 300,000 visitors over the period.
Under the slogan "Got enough meat?", renowned and popular meat restaurants from across Japan gathered to sell steaks, fried chicken, yakitori, sukiyaki, and more at their booths. A drink corner featuring mainly craft beer was also set up. Embassies from Peru, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, and others participated, introducing representative meat dishes from their countries. Long lines formed at the booths all day long throughout the event, with visitors enjoying dishes they don't usually get to taste. A corner selling regional products was also set up to support the reconstruction of the Tohoku region.
On stage, live music and dance performances produced by the ESP Musical Academy, a music vocational school, were held, making it an event enjoyable for families. The committee plans to continue this event in future years, aiming to revitalize the region and create a venue for international exchange through food.
