Bathhouse Design Engineer "Lucius" Appears in a collaborative ad transcending time and space

The Asahi Shimbun published numerous collaborative advertisements featuring the protagonist Lucius in its April 26th edition, coinciding with the opening day of the film "Thermae Romae II."

「テルマエ・ロマエ」は、古代ローマ帝国の浴場設計技師・ルシウスが現代日本にタイムスリップし、風呂を巡って冒険を繰り広げるストーリーで、ヤマザキマリさんの人気コ ミックが原作。2012年に1作目が映画化され大ヒット、ルシウス役の阿部寛さんが第36回日本アカデミー賞最優秀主演男優賞を受賞。今回はその続編で “よい風呂の日”の公開となった。

 

The print edition featured full-page color sponsorships from the film's production committee at the top, followed by Japan Gateway, Tsumiki (Filmarks), Johnson & Johnson, Oedo Onsen Monogatari, Loft, Megane Super, Next, and TOTO. These ads prominently displayed visuals combining products or services with Lucius, using catchphrases reminiscent of the film's dialogue.
Additionally, on the television front, Fuji Television, which aired the previous film on the same day, and Kerorin (Naikai Yakuhin), famous for its yellow tubs, ran special-format advertisements. On the 29th (Good Meat Day), the same committee and Ito Ham also placed full-page color advertisements.
