Tokyo's new landmark, Toranomon Hills, opened on June 11. Construction began in 2011 under the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, with Mori Building as the designated builder. Located within the "Asia Headquarters Special Zone" promoted by the city to attract foreign companies, it is a 52-story, 247-meter-tall super high-rise mixed-use tower. The upper floors house the lifestyle hotel "Andaz Tokyo" (164 rooms), operated by the Hyatt Group and marking its first entry into Japan. Below this are residences with a total of 172 units and office space (spanning 30 floors). The first five floors above ground feature conference facilities, restaurants, and cafes, with maximum consideration given to safety and the environment.
Its catchphrase is "Hello, Mirai Tokyo!"—"The future of Tokyo begins here." The character ambassador is Toramon, a cat-shaped business robot.

The Circular Route 2 (Shinbashi–Toranomon section) runs underground beneath the Hills complex. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, it will serve as a vital artery connecting the athletes' village and competition venues in the bay area with central Tokyo. The above-ground "Shintora Street" will feature pedestrian spaces and bicycle lanes up to approximately 13 meters wide on each side. Scheduled for completion next March, it is set to become a symbolic street of Tokyo. Furthermore, through the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "Tokyo Champs-Élysées Project," the road will be utilized as a vibrant space with features like open-air cafes, aiming to revitalize the neighborhood.
