On July 24th, new employees departed from Dentsu Inc. headquarters building in Shiodome, Tokyo, bound for Mount Fuji. The "Dentsu Mount Fuji Climb" is one of the company's traditional events, part of its new employee training program. The new employees first prayed for safe climbing at Suwari Sengen Shrine in Sunto District, Shizuoka Prefecture. They began their ascent from the 5th station of the Suwari trailhead at 3:30 PM. They arrived at the summit one after another from evening into the night. Early the next morning, the 25th, they witnessed the sunrise from the summit and shouted "Banzai!" three times. By 11:00 AM, all had safely descended.
