To commemorate the major debut of the four-member idol group "Akamaru Dash☆," produced in earnest by musician and actor Tetsuya Takeda, Toyo Suisan held a presentation event on August 13 at the store plaza of Marui City Shibuya in Tokyo.
The "Tetsuya Takeda Produced Idol Project" began in August 2013, inspired by Takeda, who has served as the CM character for "A "Red Fox" and "Green Tanuki" for 36 years. The company supports the project's mission to "fuse idols with food and bring smiles to the world" and participates as a sponsor.
The group has appeared alongside Takeda-san in TV commercials like the "Lesson" and "Serious Otaku Performance" editions. These story-driven series commercials follow the girls' growth under Producer Takeda's guidance and support, alongside the products. Each member is assigned a product—"Red Fox," "Green Tanuki," "Black Pork Curry," or "White Rice Cake"—and they dedicate themselves to singing and dancing to gain more fans who will call them their "favorite noodles" (oshi-men).
At the presentation, Takeda and four members appeared, and the new CM "Last Summer" was screened. The setting is the baseball club room, where members happily eat Maruchan with their friends. It's the last summer for the third-year high school students, and a bittersweet atmosphere lingers. The story depicts Takeda and the members watching over them like angels, invisible yet watching with gentle eyes. In the background, Takeda and the four members sing a soft chorus.
On stage, Takeda-san made a surprise announcement: "Akamaru Dash☆ will make its major debut on October 22nd!" Hearing this for the first time, the members shed tears of joy, and cheers erupted from the watching fans. Their debut single (Japan Columbia) is the CD version of "Eat, Laugh, Live On," also used in the commercial. Amidst their surprise, the four performed the commercial version of the song live. Takeda-san expressed satisfaction with the performance, saying, "It's a song even an old guy like me can keep up with, and the melody has a Showa-era feel." He also presented the single character "歌" (song) as a "parting gift" to the members, encouraging them: "Sing this out to the world! Aim for the Kohaku!"
The Akamaru Dash☆ official website ( maruchan.co.jp/aka-midori/idol_project/ ) features member profiles and schedules, plus allows viewing of commercials and documentary videos.
