The Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) held the first " IPC-Tokyo 2020 Project Review" in Tokyo on December 15 and 16. This review is an administrative-level consultation where both parties confirm the preparation status for the Games.

On the 16th, a press conference was held at a hotel in Minato Ward, Tokyo. IPC CEO Javier González reported, "We spent two days discussing the formulation of the basic plan, governance, accessibility, and other matters. It was a productive meeting." He also expressed great satisfaction with the current status, stating, "Never before has a project been this far along in its preparatory stages. I believe it is assured to be the most successful Paralympic Games ever." He also highlighted three key areas of focus for the IPC: commercial aspects, engagement, and legacy.
Organizing Committee Secretary General Toshiro Muto stated, "We had active discussions with the IPC and received much valuable advice." Referring to the large crowds and media presence at the "Blind Football World Championships" held in Tokyo in November, he expressed his aspirations: "We aim to further promote the growing enthusiasm for disabled sports domestically and foster momentum for the Paralympics."
CEO Gonzalez commented that the medium- to long-term reform plan "Agenda 2020," recently approved at the International Olympic Committee General Assembly, will likely impact the Paralympics going forward.
