President Yoshiharu Ueki opened the event, stating, "The first initiative as an Official Partner is the operation of this special livery aircraft. We hope that by flying across Japan's skies, it will inspire many people to look forward to the Games." Attending the event wereYoshiro Mori, President of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee;Tsunekazu Takeda, President of the Japanese Olympic Committee; and Mitsunori Torihara, President of the Japanese Paralympic Committee. They offered congratulatory remarks, including: "We sincerely hope it will also fly on international routes," "We appreciate this wonderful initiative so soon after the partnership agreement," and "It will inspire not only Arashi fans but many people."
All five Arashi members took the stage. Following Ohno's call of "JAL Fly to, " the members united in saying "2020." A curtain behind them then moved aside, revealing the aircraft.
The aircraft features a vibrant, colorful design themed around "Hope for the Future," depicting flowers, Mount Fuji, the four seasons, and evolving people. Below this, the members' portraits and the words "Fly to 2020" are displayed.
Ohno explained that he conceived the design based on words like "hope," "fluttering," and "blooming" for the Games, revealing, "I spent nearly a month carefully drawing it."
The members shared their aspirations for the Tokyo Games: "We're excited to see how Japan will transform," "We want to experience the atmosphere firsthand by watching the Games live," and "We want to help build excitement for the Games alongside JAL."
It was also announced that the next TV commercial featuring Arashi will be a documentary-style piece following the completion of the special livery aircraft. The song used will be Arashi's new track "Yume ni Kakaru," with broadcast scheduled to begin in July.
