Artworks featuring the "Coca-Cola Slim Bottle" gather at Isetan!

Japan Coca-Cola and Isetan Mitsukoshi commissioned Japanese artists and creators to produce artworks (Art Slim Bottles) featuring Coca-Cola's "Slim Bottle," introduced to Japan for the first time this July. All 76 pieces are on display at the Isetan Shinjuku Main Store in Tokyo from August 12th to 17th.

This project commemorates the 100th anniversary of the iconic glass bottle with its beautiful curves (the Contour Bottle) this year. Alongside the exhibition, a charity campaign (August 12 to September 1) is being held for the Art Slim Bottles, which will be presented to applicants at a later date. All proceeds from the charity drive will be donated to "Children's Art House," an organization providing art-based educational support to children and their families in Tohoku as part of the Great East Japan Earthquake reconstruction support project.

A press preview was held on the opening day, August 12. Representing the artists who created works in support of the "Art Slim Bottle Charity," musician and artist Tatsuya Ishii attended as a guest. Appearing in fashion coordinated with Coca-Cola's signature red, Ishii spoke about his hand-painted work, stating, "I struggled to beautifully divide the colors while preserving the bottle's curves."

He also explained his support for the project, stating, "While I personally engage in charity and donations, large-scale initiatives between major corporations are particularly meaningful." Ishii added, "I hope this work, created for Tohoku, Japan, and the world, can bring happiness to many people."

 

From August 12th to 24th, Isetan Shinjuku Main Building and Men's Building are hosting a Coca-Cola collaboration event and selling Coca-Cola 100th Anniversary commemorative items.
