Dentsu Inc. Ventures invests in Sensai, a company developing an AI-powered unstructured big data analytics platform.
On October 22, Dentsu Inc. Ventures 1 Global Fund (Dentsu Inc. Ventures), a corporate venture capital fund managed by Dentsu Inc., invested in Sensai Corporation (Sensai), a provider of unstructured big data analysis platforms leveraging artificial intelligence technology.
Dentsu Inc. Ventures is a fund established in April this year to realize open innovation within the Dentsu Group. This is achieved through investing in ambitious startups creating unseen futures and collaborating with portfolio companies. Beyond financial backing, the fund supports businesses and entrepreneurs by providing solutions and resources unique to the Dentsu Group, aimed at solving specific challenges. Sensai Corporation is the fourth investment under this fund.
Sensai's big data analytics platform excels at analyzing unstructured data. Its proprietary language, Cuddle, is a powerful tool that simplifies the analysis of unstructured data. As the first wave of its solution package, Sensai already offers Sensai Research, an unstructured big data analysis tool for enterprises and government agencies; Sensai Anti Fraud, which facilitates analysis for managing fraudulent transactions; and Sensai Governance, which analyzes whether corporate governance and internal controls are functioning soundly.
Dentsu Inc. Ventures believes Sensai's technology, which simplifies big data analysis and broadens the base of data analysts—previously a bottleneck for analysis—will become increasingly important. In particular, Dentsu Inc. Ventures expects Sensai's technological innovation to expand into marketing businesses leveraging broader consumer data accumulated through the future proliferation of IoT and wearable technologies.
Going forward, the Dentsu Group will support the expansion of Sensai's platform and the development of new businesses.
