Showcasing a Diverse World from Electric Bikes to Four-Wheel Concepts ― Yamaha (TMS)
Yamaha Motor is exhibiting a total of 20 models at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show (October 29 - November 8, Tokyo Big Sight), including concept models and production vehicles. This lineup features six world premieres (global debuts) and one Japan premiere (Japanese debut).
The theme is "Resonate. YAMAHA MOTOR PRODUCT ORCHESTRA." It aims for Yamaha's unique approach to manufacturing, drawing on its expertise in musical instruments.
Yamaha expressed its expanding world of mobility, showcasing electric assist bicycles and EVs that broaden the future of transportation, commuters and motorcycles that continue to refine two-wheeler technology, LMW (Leaning Multi-Wheel) vehicles proposing new applications, ROVs (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles) that continue to create markets, and four-wheeled design concept models.
Alongside the YPJ-R, a production model high-performance road bike equipped with electric assist, Yamaha introduced the YPJ-MTB CONCEPT, a hybrid of motor assist and high-performance bicycle technology. This concept model is an electric mountain bike designed for adults to enjoy across all terrains.
The MOTOBOT, a humanoid autonomous riding robot integrating motorcycle and robotics technologies. It aims to achieve circuit speeds exceeding 200 km/h without modifying the motorcycle itself.
The LMW (Leaning Multi-Wheel) "MWT-9" proposes a new category in the world of sport riding. Following the commercial "TRICITY," it explores the potential of this category. It features a dynamic, seamless body housing a 3-cylinder 850cc engine. It boasts overwhelming cornering performance thanks to its dual front wheels.
The ROV (Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle) category is expanding, particularly in North America. The "YXZ1000R" is a pure sports model for two riders, featuring a newly developed water-cooled 998cc three-cylinder engine. It demonstrates high mobility even in rough terrain and deserts.
The four-wheel design concept model "SPORTS RIDE CONCEPT" is a true sports car for adults to enjoy daily. It expresses the relationship between driver and machine in a worldview closer to that of a motorcycle.
