On November 7, Sharp held an event to unveil a new commercial for its "AQUOS 4K" LCD TV at the "Moshi Moshi Nippon Festival 2015 in Tokyo"* held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Sendagaya.
The announcement took place on the middle day of the festival (November 6-8), starting at 6:30 PM when the venue was already buzzing with excitement from numerous events.
Amidst the darkness, the new commercial's theme song "Perfect Form" played as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu appeared on stage in her commercial costume. Her appearance was a secret, so the venue erupted when she first said, "Everyone, sorry for keeping it a secret. I'm Kyary Pamyu Pamyu."
Next, the new "AQUOS 4K" commercial played on the large stage monitor. In this commercial, set on a Noh stage, a 16-piece orchestra and conductor perform "Perfect Form." All 17 roles were played by Kyary herself. "I was happy to play various instruments. The trumpet and violin were fun too," said Kyary.
The fusion of Japanese and Western elements in the setting and costumes, along with the music blending techno-pop and orchestra, were all new experiences for Kyary. Reflecting on the grueling 12-hour shoot, she said, "It was full of firsts and a great experience. The 12 hours flew by—it was a fun shoot."
After the photo session, Kyary concluded by highlighting the brilliance of 4K: "The Aqous 4K delivers incredibly beautiful and powerful visuals and sound. Please enjoy live footage and promotional videos on it. I'll be enjoying it too."
