Ms. Ishimaru, Ms. Dan Mitsu, and others Form the "Ehime Sweets Party"!

Ehime Prefecture is launching the PR campaign "Ehime Sweets Collection" (November–February 2016), themed around "sweets" made with its abundant fruits. The campaign aims to spark interest in locally produced agricultural products among consumers in the Tokyo metropolitan area, leading to increased recognition and sales.

The kickoff event was held on November 18 at Cafe Comme Sa Ginza in Chuo Ward, Tokyo.

At the start, Governor Tokihiro Nakamura of Ehime Prefecture stated, "Our prefecture produces such a wide variety of fruits that it's known as the Citrus and Fruit Kingdom. We also have many ingredients suitable for sweets. This event was conceived to make people in Tokyo fans of our locally grown fruits." He announced that sweets made with local ingredients would be offered at five shops in the Ginza area and approximately 20 shops throughout Tokyo.

Models from Ehime Prefecture appeared on stage dressed in their respective image colors, introducing kiwifruit (Japan's top producer), chestnuts, and the prefecture's representative mikan oranges. Next, actor Miki Ishimaru, also from Ehime, and Miki Dan, the image character for the "Akai Shizuku" strawberry, took the stage in bright red dresses. They engaged in a discussion with Governor Nakamura about fruit and sweets.

Dan Mitsu praised "Akai Shizuku," saying, "I was amazed by its texture and juiciness, unique to a hybrid of two varieties. It's a taste for adults." Ishimaru shared his hometown pride, stating, "Eating local fruit since childhood built my body to endure long performances." As the conversation heated up with the governor introducing top-quality mikan and famous sweets, they decided to form the "Ehime Sweets Party." The governor nominated Ishimaru as party leader and Dan Mitsu as publicity director. The prefecture's image character, Mikyan, was also added as a party member.

To celebrate the new party's formation, Dan Mitsu treated the governor and Ishima to special sweets. Both beamed with bliss, exclaiming, "What a perk!" and "So happy!" The trio shared messages: "Everyone, please help promote Ehime sweets," "We hope many people deeply savor our diverse sweets," and "With gratitude to our producers, we aim to stay fresh and vibrant."
