From July 16 to August 31, Suntory Spirits opened the "Gyoza ni Strongood! -196℃ Chu-Hi Garden" at Sakas Square in Akasaka Sakas, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Visitors can enjoy the canned chu-hi "-196℃ Strong Zero" alongside Utsunomiya gyoza.
This limited-time shop operates within TBS's summer event "Delishakas 2016" held at the same location.
At the opening event held the day before launch, Daisuke Yamamoto, General Manager, explained that within the continuing expansion of the RTD (Ready-to-Drink) market, the company's sales volume is performing well at 114% year-on-year. He emphasized that the flagship brand Strong Zero, in particular, is at 116% year-on-year and is driving the market, revealing that the 2016 RTD sales plan has been revised upward. He also suggested that Strong Zero's success might stem from its long-promoted appeal as a drink that pairs well with food, stating, "With this third Chuhai Garden, we want even more people to experience that for themselves."
The Garden will serve four varieties of Strong Zero, including the newly launched "Bitter Lemon" (released July 12), in cups packed with ice. Utsunomiya gyoza will feature gyoza from seven popular shops, rotating weekly.
Actress Yuki Amami, who stars in Strong Zero's TV commercials, took the stage. Amami stated, "I'm delighted the season when Strong Zero tastes even better has arrived. I hope everyone stops by after work during this hot summer." She raised a toast with Bitter Lemon to celebrate the opening, her face beaming with pure delight.
She then delivered her line with even more volume than in the commercial, striking a pose: "Gyoza with Strong Good!" She added, "It's not sweet, so it pairs perfectly with gyoza and absolutely any other meal. We've gained new fans and new flavors. Let's blow away the tough summer with Strong Zero!"
