On July 27, the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, together with the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) and the Japan Paralympic Committee (JPC), announced the sale of official "Frame Stamps" featuring Japanese gold medalists as JOC and JPC officially licensed merchandise.
These stamps will be sold during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic and Paralympic Games period with the cooperation of Japan Post, an Official Partner of Tokyo 2020.
During the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the frame stamp for a Japanese athlete who wins a gold medal will be sold at Tokyo Central Post Office the day after the medal is won. A frame stamp is a stamp sheet combining a photograph and a stamp. ( https://kitte-shop.post.japanpost.jp/what.html )
Frame stamps will be issued for each gold medal-winning event (individual and team). Each sheet contains five 82-yen stamps and will be sold for 1,400 yen (tax included).
At post offices, purchases are limited to one sheet per person per item. Sales at Tokyo Central Post Office will end once sold out. Reservations will be accepted at the same office for one week starting from the sales commencement date.
Sales are also planned at central post offices in the hometowns of gold medalists and via mail order on the company's online shop "Stamp SHOP".
