"IOC/Tokyo 2020 Orientation Seminar" Held

The Japan Olympic Committee (JOC) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government jointly held the "IOC/Tokyo 2020 Orientation Seminar" with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on November 14 and 15 at the Ajinomoto National Training Center in Kita Ward, Tokyo.

This seminar served as a working-level meeting to discuss preparations for the Tokyo Games. A delegation from the IOC, led by Gilbert Felli, Executive Director of the Olympic Games, visited Japan. The IOC explained key points for the Organizing Committee and the content of the seven-year preparation period. Over the two days, active discussions were held with Japanese Games officials.

A joint press conference was held after the seminar concluded on the 15th. Mr. Felli spoke about the seminar's outcomes, stating, "I am pleased that Tokyo has already made a swift start." JOC President Tsunekazu Takeda said, "We received a great deal of advice for the hosting. We reaffirmed the importance of clarifying and sharing the Games vision."
