Morinaga Milk Industry held a briefing and tasting event for its new product, "Bifidus Smooth Pour Plain Yogurt," at the Akasaka Vector Lounge in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on September 13.

This product, packaged in a bottle-type paper container with a cap, is a new "pour-over" type yogurt proposed from the "Bifidus Yogurt" series containing Bifidobacterium BB536.
Its thick, viscous texture allows for easy one-handed pouring. It also eliminates the need for a serving spoon, saving time during busy morning meal prep and cleanup. Furthermore, its mild flavor with less tartness makes it suitable as a secret ingredient in cooking or as a substitute for seasonings.
Makiko Kawakami, Head of the DY Marketing Group within the Marketing Division of the Retail Business Department at Morinaga Milk Industry's First Sales Headquarters, explained the background behind launching this new yogurt type. She noted that with growing health consciousness and changing dietary habits, the yogurt market is expected to continue expanding, making it timely to introduce a new product type that meets market needs.

Food Education Instructor and Culinary Researcher Asuka Wada
Next, food education instructor and culinary researcher Asuka Wada, also a mother of three, took the stage. She presented four "easy time-saving recipes" she supervised: "Ultimate Gut-Health Soup Finished with Drizzled Yogurt," "Spicy Yogurt Meatballs," "Yogurt Cheesecake with Bread," and "Shrimp Mayo Salad" – all made simply by adding yogurt.
Regarding the new product, Wada shared her thoughts: "Being able to pour it directly onto food is incredibly convenient. My kids enjoy pouring it on however they like, making meal prep easier. It's not only easy to use but also contributes to my family's health, so I think it's an indispensable product for the daily table."
"Bifidus Smooth Pour Plain Yogurt" launches September 13th in the Tokai/Hokuriku region and eastward, and September 20th in the Kansai region and westward. View simple recipes using this product and the TV commercial "Time Isn't Wasted" here.
