Rohto Pharmaceutical Web Video Yuriyan Retriever delivers a passionate performance as a love-struck high school girl.
On April 17, Rohto Pharmaceutical released a web video titled "Koi Suru Hada Kyun Movie" for its "Hada Labo Gokujyun" brand of lotion on a special website ( http://jp.rohto.com/hadalabo/promo/k_hada_kyun/ ).
Since March, the lotion has been promoting its brand message—"Become skin that attracts love. Skin that makes you swoon"—targeting teenage girls. This time, a video was produced set in a high school, featuring comedian Yuriyan Retriever as a high school girl who falls for her childhood friend and classmate, played by actor Ryusei Ryo. Both are rising stars gaining attention.
Yuriyan finds her heart stirred and falls for Ryusei's suggestive actions when they encounter each other on campus. The video depicts Yuriyan's innocent, cute reactions and Ryusei's refreshingly handsome charm across eight heart-fluttering scenes.
The seemingly blossoming romance takes an unexpected turn, and Yuriyan regains some energy by caring for her skin with "Gokujun" in this youthful love story. The theme song is the new track "Love and Lies" by the four-member girl band "Akai Kouen," a love song perfectly matching the bittersweet feelings of a girl's unrequited love.
In post-shoot interviews, Yuriyan commented, "The moment that made my heart flutter the most was when he carried me princess-style in the library. I think women's skin gets more radiant when they're in love," while Ryusei remarked, "People with beautiful skin are wonderful; you just can't help but stare."
The special website also features a nighttime-only "Handsome Goodnight Movie" starring Ryusei. It's a sleep-inducing video aimed at those who have trouble falling asleep, emphasizing how important sleep is for beautiful skin.
