Ajinomoto Frozen Foods opened a "Gyoza Station" on July 14 at JR Sobu Line Ryogoku Station Platform 3, where customers can experience the fun of cooking and eating gyoza. Let's Go! Gyoza." The station will be open for a limited time until the 28th. Platform 3 is a "phantom platform" that hasn't seen regular passenger train service for 29 years and is normally unused. Visitors can enjoy gyoza while immersed in a Showa-era atmosphere.
A preview event for the press was held on the 13th, the day before the opening.

Tables on the platform are equipped with gas stoves, frying pans, and seasonings. Customers cook the gyoza themselves—no oil or water needed—and enjoy them with beer and other drinks. On opening day, members of Hosei University's sumo club were invited, fitting for the sumo-famous town of Ryogoku, and they savored the gyoza.
The company plans to roll out similar concepts in major cities nationwide. It is also running a social media campaign called the "Grill Shape Contest." Participants who post photos of unique, original grill shapes (the shape of the gyoza after cooking) created at home will be judged and selected. Winners will be featured on the brand website or on product packaging.
