Ezaki Glico Ice Cream Tour Facility "Glico-pia CHIBA" Opens

Ezaki Glico opened the "Glico-pia CHIBA" visitor facility on July 13th within the factory of its production subsidiary, Glico Chiba Ice Cream, located in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture.
This factory, which manufactures products like "Papico" and "Seventeen Ice," is the largest ice cream factory operated by the company. While this is the third factory tour facility operated by the company, following Glico-pia Kobe and Glico-pia East (Saitama Prefecture), it is the first dedicated to ice cream.

An opening ceremony was held at the facility on the 12th, the day before the grand opening.
President Katsuhisa Ezaki stated, "Although we entered the ice cream manufacturing market later than others, we have now become a top-tier company in Japan. We hope this facility will be enjoyed by local residents, especially elementary school students and kindergarteners."

Actress Kazue Fukiishi, who appears in Papico commercials, attended the ceremony as a guest.
Fukiishi said, "I've wanted to visit a factory for several years, and today that dream came true. Even adults can appreciate the depth of ice cream and find it fascinating. I really enjoyed observing the Papico filling process with the zoom camera." She added with a smile, "When I was a child, after coming home from school, I would race my two younger brothers to open the freezer door and fight over the ice cream. Sometimes I lost to them and missed out, but now I'm happy I can eat as much of my favorite ice cream as I want."

After the ceremony, a preview event was held for media and guests.
The facility's dedicated pathways feature monitors clearly explaining the ice cream manufacturing process, a state-of-the-art video theater, a "clean room" that uses strong airflow to remove any foreign particles from the body, and a "giant freezer" where visitors can experience the sub-zero world where ice cream is frozen. Through observation and hands-on experiences, visitors can learn about ice cream. There is also a paid service where visitors can experience making ice cream themselves.

Visits to the facility require reservations made online or by phone, and admission is free. Guided tours, lasting approximately 70 minutes, are conducted five times daily.
