Copywriter Training Course Celebrates 60th Anniversary! Commemorative Event "Copyjiam 2017" Held

Sendenkaigi will hold "Copyjiam 2017," an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the opening of the "Sendenkaigi Copywriter Training Course," at Tokyo Midtown in Minato Ward from August 28 to September 3.

Through exhibitions and talk sessions, it will spotlight advertisements and copy that have moved people's hearts from various angles, while also introducing the creative thinking methods of outstanding copywriters and the appeal of creative work.

A distinctive feature this year is the expanded offerings of exhibits and events specifically designed for teenagers interested in advertising creativity and copywriting.

The exhibition space features 200 selected masterpieces of copy from the past 60 years, along with sections designed to deepen understanding of creative professions and trace the process of how advertisements are made.

Daily talk sessions on various themes feature top creators like copywriters and CM planners from advertising and production agencies, alongside graduates of the program. Diverse guests also participate, including Yoshiki Mizuno from the band "Ikimono-gakari," and comedians Takuya Gomei and Daisuke Toyama from the trio "Grunge."

Furthermore, a "Public Copywriter Training Course" will be held for junior high and high school students, featuring popular idols like AKB48 Team 8 and Ebisu Junior High School as guest participants. This special class supports entries into the junior high/high school division of the "55th Sendenkaigi Award," a competition often called the gateway to becoming a copywriter. Participants will tackle the award's assignment alongside the idols.

Those wishing to attend each talk session should apply via the special website (lottery selection if oversubscribed).

Following the Tokyo event, "Copyjiam" is scheduled to be held in Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Kanazawa.
