Hiroshi Kume as Anchorman "BS Commercial Broadcasters' 5-Station Joint Special Programming Campaign"

Five BS commercial broadcasters are running their annual year-end/New Year special programming campaign under the slogan "The true power of TV lies in BS." From December 29 to January 3, they will air the new series "Kume Hiroshi's 'A Century of Japan'" for five consecutive nights, excluding New Year's Eve. The series looks back on 100 years of "Food," "Medicine," "Popular Songs," "Railways," and "Family," while contemplating the future. It features appearances by Lily Franky, Hiroyuki Itsuki, Yasushi Akimoto, Yoji Yamada, and Shigesato Itoi. Kume will appear in all five episodes, engaging in passionate discussions with the guests.

On December 9th, a program production announcement event was held at the Jiji Press Hall in Chuo Ward, Tokyo. Kume shared his thoughts, stating, "It made me think about whether 100 years is a long time or a short time," and appealed, "Please be sure to watch BS, which you can enjoy at your leisure, during the year-end and New Year holidays." When asked for a message to Japan 100 years from now, he wrote on a board: "Do the same project 100 years from now! Someone, please make it happen!" The five BS commercial broadcasters will air over 110 hours of special programming over the year-end and New Year period, including this new production and previously broadcast programs.
