[Call for Proposals] Let Tokyo 2020 delight the world through arts and culture too!

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo, which are implementing the "Tokyo Culture Program" leading up to 2020, will hold a call for proposals for the "Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL" in February 2018.

The Tokyo Culture Program is the collective name for various cultural projects implemented and supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra leading up to 2020. Among these, the programs implemented during the six-month period starting April 2020, when attention from both Japan and abroad will peak, are called the "Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL."

This call for proposals aims to create core projects for the Tokyo Tokyo FESTIVAL, build a Tokyo Culture Program that will remain in the memories of people around the world, and help Tokyo step up to become an even more creative cultural city.

Projects must be implemented and completed between autumn 2019 and September 2020, with locations within Tokyo. Target fields include music, theater, dance, fine arts, photography, literature, media arts (film, manga, anime, games, etc.), traditional performing arts, performing arts, lifestyle culture (tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, food culture, etc.), fashion, architecture, and interdisciplinary artistic activities (multi-disciplinary).

Desired project content includes keywords such as "impactful artistic creation," "accessibility for all people," and "expanding the possibilities of art."
