[Call for Participants] Toward a society where people can live vibrantly even with cancer. Event to be held.

Lavender Ring will hold "Lavender Ring Day" (Organizer: Lavender Ring Secretariat / Supporting Companies: Shiseido, Credit Saison, Yahoo / Cooperation: Cancer Net Japan) at the 17th-floor coworking space " LODGE " within Yahoo's headquarters in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, coinciding with World Cancer Day on February 4th. This event aims to raise awareness about cancer and promote coexistence with it. Participation is free, but space is limited. Apply to participate here.

In an era where it is said that one in two Japanese people will develop cancer in their lifetime, the Secretariat shares ideas and activities aimed at realizing a society where people can live vibrantly and with smiles even after a cancer diagnosis, and where society can coexist with cancer and cancer patients (survivors). Various programs are planned for the day.

The following programs are scheduled for the main stage.

② Keynote Session 2: "How to Obtain Accurate Information About Cancer" ... Tei Goto (National Cancer Center Hospital)
③ Lavender Ring Workshop: Recognizing Unconscious Bias Regarding Cancer... Tomotaka Moriya (Moriya Consulting)
④ Lavender Ring Award: Product Design... An award for products that solve challenges faced by cancer survivors through design. Judge: Tetsu Miyazawa (&design).
⑤ Lavender Ring Award: Lavender Son... An idea hackathon solving social issues related to cancer through creativity. Theme: "Develop a tool to help cancer survivors communicate their diagnosis to others." Judges: Masanori Takeyama (Keio University Professor), Hiroki Nakamura (PARTY).

Additionally, the studio will host a live event called "MAKEUP & PHOTO" (lottery system; advance registration required), where cancer survivors will receive makeup and have their photos taken. This is led by Shiseido Life Quality Beauty Center (SLQC), which focuses on cancer appearance care, Shiseido Beauty Salon, and Shiseido photographer Masato Kanazawa. Meanwhile, in the conference room (Kids Room), a "Kids Workshop" will be held for children. Participants can experience creating illustrations, scented beads, and lip gloss alongside illustrator Yuko Kato and Shiseido employees.

Additionally, starting February 1st, content titled "What We Want You to Know About Cancer" will be featured on the Yahoo! Japan website in conjunction with this event.

This event is part of the volunteer project " Lavender Ring," which also launches on the same day. Lavender Ring aims to create a society where people can live vibrantly even after a cancer diagnosis. It seeks to spread understanding about cancer throughout Japan and build a future where everyone can share smiles together. The project was initiated by cancer survivors and their supporters who wish to change the environment surrounding cancer patients.
