Spring is "Teriyaki Max!" Teriyaki New Product Launch Event

On March 1, McDonald's Japan held an event for its new spring staple menu item, the "Teriyaki Tamago" series, at Shibuya MODI in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo.

Named the "Teri-Tama-Max" campaign, it embodies the idea of charging up with Teri-Tama for new challenges. The "Teri-Tama" features a rich, savory pork patty coated in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce infused with ginger, apple, and a hint of garlic, sandwiched with a plump egg and lettuce in a sesame bun. The "Cheese Teriyaki Egg" features creamy, rich Cheddar cheese. The "Teriyaki Egg Muffin" is part of the breakfast menu. New this year is the "Overflowing Ham Teriyaki Egg," featuring a large, thick-cut smoked ham with a satisfying bite. These four varieties, along with along with two drinks: "MacFizz Amaou" and "MacFloat Amaou." These will be available for a limited time starting the 7th at McDonald's restaurants nationwide (excluding some locations). The TV commercial features singer Ichiro Mizuki as the narrator. His powerful voice declares, "Get energized to the max! Teri-Tama-Max!" expressing how eating Teri-Tama makes you "get energized to the max!"

Regarding the event, Marketing Division General Manager Mami Sakashita expressed her hopes for the campaign: "Spring is a season of change and challenge. We want the spring Teritama series to support everyone embracing that spirit. We hope you'll enjoy the Teritama series and take on new challenges with energy."

Comedy duo Taka and Toshi appeared as guests, serving as the Teritama Max cheer squad.

After tasting the "Teriyaki Egg," Taka remarked, "Spring means Teriyaki Egg! I eat it every year, and it's still delicious!" Tosh, tasting the "Overflowing Ham Teriyaki Egg," exclaimed, "It's huge! The ham spills over—a taste I've never experienced before. Delicious Max!" Taka added, "It surpasses the Teriyaki Egg!"

Following the campaign's concept, they held the "Eat Teritama, Get Max Energy! Shout Your Challenge Declaration" event. Five participants shouted out their upcoming challenges. After judging, Taka and Tosh selected the winner: a man who shouted, "I'll eat Teritama with my grandchild and aim for them to compete in the Swimming Olympics!"

Finally, Taka and Tosh sent an encouraging shout-out to those about to take on new challenges: "Eat Teritama this spring for the best start possible. Be full of energy! Teritama Max!"
