About the Cross-Border Learning Project "Cross-Border Workers" by Dentsu Inc. and SoftBank

The text of the Dentsu Inc. news release distributed on July 31 is as follows.

July 31, 2018

Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto) and SoftBank Corp. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President, CEO and Representative Director: Ken Miyauchi) have jointly planned and implemented the "Cross-Border Workers" project since May 2018. This cross-border learning initiative (※1) aims to create learning opportunities beyond corporate boundaries, inspired by the proximity of both companies' headquarters. Moving forward, they will recruit new participating companies and expand this initiative starting this fall.

"Cross-Border Workers" is an open project where participating companies mutually accept employees to tackle challenges. Its key feature is addressing challenges selected by each company not through formal transfers, but within a flexible framework of mutual internships. This project aims not only to provide learning opportunities for employees but also to foster innovation through active exchange of diverse perspectives and experiences. It further promotes cross-company collaboration, including accumulating knowledge to advance diverse work styles and building new talent networks.

Dentsu Inc.'s Diversity Lab, a specialized task force addressing diversity and inclusion challenges, is accepting SoftBank and its group employees to conduct "research and development on inclusive marketing (※2)," aiming to develop inclusive marketing solutions. SoftBank will accept Dentsu Inc. employees into its Future Realization Promotion Office, which drives future exploration and realization with the goal of creating innovative back-office systems. The aim is to plan and implement initiatives that promote IT utilization. Going forward, new participating companies will be recruited to plan projects addressing each company's specific challenges.

Both companies will share the outcomes gained through this project with companies, government agencies, NPOs, and others located in the Shiodome area, where both companies have their headquarters.
