Announcing Two New IQOS Devices Including a Model for Continuous Use

Philip Morris International and Philip Morris Japan held a press conference in Tokyo on October 23, globally unveiling the new devices "IQOS 3" and "IQOS 3 MULTI" for the heated tobacco product "IQOS".
Sales will begin on November 15 at nine IQOS stores nationwide and the IQOS online store.

IQOS is currently sold in 42 countries. In Japan, it launched in Nagoya in November 2014 and became available nationwide in April 2016. The number of users in Japan has now surpassed 5 million. Philip Morris International CEO André Calantzopoulos stated, "Japan has been the most important market for IQOS sales over the past four years," explaining why the new models were unveiled here first.

The "IQOS 3" features a significantly redesigned form factor. It adopts a side-opening system for smoother holder insertion and removal, resulting in a more compact and stylish design. Charging time has been reduced by 40 seconds, and accessories offering up to 576 possible combinations will be available.
The "IQOS 3 MULTI" enables continuous use, a feature highly requested by users.
With a full charge, it can be used 10 times consecutively without waiting. This all-in-one design eliminates the need to insert and remove holders, weighing just 50 grams—the lightest in the series. Its ease of one-handed operation is a key appeal.
