Aggreko Events Services Japan, a specialist in power and temperature control, signed a sponsorship agreement with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on December 14, becoming an Official Supporter of Tokyo 2020.
The contract category is "Temporary Power Services."
The company is a subsidiary of Aggreko plc, a global provider of modular, mobile generators, heaters, and coolers based in the UK.
For the 2020 Games, Aggreko will provide temporary power (generation and distribution) systems, supplying critical power for venues, the Athletes' Village, the Main Press Center, the International Broadcast Center, broadcasting and technology equipment, and competition lighting, thereby supporting Games operations and broadcast coverage.
President Robert Wells commented, "We believe power creates opportunities and unlocks potential for people, communities, industries, economies, and society. We provide temporary power services worldwide. Through this agreement, we aim to support the Organizing Committee and contribute to the Games' success."
Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori commented, "A stable power supply is a critical issue for operating the Games. It is very reassuring to have the cooperation of this company, which has a proven track record in temporary power services at past Games."
