The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee announced on April 5 that registrations for the "TOKYO 2020 ID" required to purchase Games tickets have surpassed 2 million.
This ID is required to purchase tickets on the official Games ticket sales website. Registration enables users to receive ticket information and Games-related updates via email newsletters and other channels.
Ahead of the planned start of the Tokyo Olympic ticket lottery applications in May, the Organizing Committee will pre-open the ticket sales site on April 18 (view-only access).
The site will feature information on how to apply for tickets and competition schedules. Visitors can review details and plan their viewing experience.
