"SEVENTEEN ICE" Releases Heart-Fluttering Videos Featuring Rena Takeda and Others

Ezaki Glico has been streaming the web video "Various Ways Home" for its vending machine exclusive product "Seventeen Ice" on the official Glico YouTube channel since April 17. https://www.youtube.com/user/glicowebnet

The video features actress Rena Takeda alongside other notable young cast members playing high school students: Eriko Kumagai, Yuki Someya, Emi Kubota, and Ryuhei Miyata.
Seventeen Ice was launched in 1983 with students as its main target.
Sales began in 1985 via dedicated vending machines, which continue to this day. These machines are installed at stations and schools, with approximately 20,000 units operating nationwide.

The video depicts "youth on the way home" set at a certain high school.
Scenes unfold: students walking home together after school with ice cream in hand, posing with ice cream in front of a blackboard, meeting friends after club activities, boys and girls exchanging greetings in the hallway, and enjoying chats behind the gymnasium. The narration overlays: "It's not about indulging or going somewhere special, it's just these ordinary moments with everyone. I want to keep smiling forever."

At the seaside plaza, a male student (Mr. Miyata) and Takeda-san run into each other.
Noticing they're eating the same ice cream, the two greet each other with shy awkwardness. Seeing this, Soneno and Kubota teasingly dash off, leaving Takeda behind. Embarrassed, he chases after them.
The catchphrase "Let's all enjoy ice cream today" accompanies this scene, capturing a heart-fluttering moment of youth.
The theme song, "Motto Motto Tooku e" (Much Further Away), was written by the creative collective "H△G (Hug)" to express the "conflicts," "heartache," and "naivety" of adolescence. Pay attention to the memorable lyrics and melody alongside the visuals.
