Yahoo! Japan signed a contract with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee on May 31, becoming an Official Supporter of Tokyo 2020.
The contract category is "Information and Navigation Services on the Internet" (Web/App or internet search engine systems and services, internet-based navigation and map services, online local facility information services, and services providing weather and disaster warning information).
President Kentaro Kawabe commented, "Our mission is to 'solve people's and society's challenges through information technology.' We have launched over 100 services to date. With one of Japan's largest user bases, we are committed to providing increasingly user-friendly services. We will support the Games with all our strength to help make the event, held in the same city as our headquarters, a great success."
Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori commented, "We expect this to be an event that brings joy and excitement to many people, supported by the robust problem-solving capabilities unique to Japan's largest company providing diverse services via the internet."
