[From the Secretariat]
As the meaning of the word "design" continues to expand, this year's Good Design Award judges will join us to raise questions about "the current state and future of design" and share insights on the design world. Seiji Saito of Rhizomatiks, serving his third year as Vice-Chair; Katsuo Mizuguchi of Hotchkiss, serving his third year as a judge and this year as Unit Leader; and Yasuharu Sasaki of Dentsu Inc., participating as a judge for the first time this year, will each interpret from their unique perspectives and approaches—considering recent judging trends—what position "design" will hold in society going forward and the future of the social role "design" should fulfill. If you find yourself thinking, "I know 'design' plays a crucial role in client management and Dentsu Inc.'s proposals, but somehow when people say 'design,' it feels vague and distant from my daily work..." then please come catch up!
