With Masaharu Fukuyama "Nagasaki Blue Islands Meeting" Held Special Video Released

In November 2019, as part of the "Nagasaki Blue Islands Project" with artist Masaharu Fukuyama serving as Creative Producer (CP), Nagasaki Prefecture held the "Nagasaki Blue Islands Meeting" at the prefectural government office. High school students and adults gathered from the prefecture's islands seriously considered the future of the islands.
This time, the event has been compiled into an approximately 8-minute video and released on YouTube starting March 2. It can also be viewed on the official website, with Mr. Fukuyama providing the narration.

This project, with Fukuyama—a native of Nagasaki Prefecture—as CP, aims to revitalize the region by uncovering the charm of its numerous islands (the most in Japan) and communicating their unique landscapes, history, culture, and beauty both within and outside the prefecture.
The meeting brought together 26 high school students from islands like Tsushima, Iki, and the Goto Islands—places they rarely get to meet—along with 6 adults active on their respective islands, including returnees and newcomers.

Led by Fukuyama, the meeting featured earnest and passionate discussions about the future of these islands, where population decline is a major challenge nationwide.
Presentations included islanders introducing local work and life, workshops led by high school students, and proposals for countermeasures against population decline.
