Ezaki Glico began airing a new TV commercial for its classic long-selling ice cream "Giant Cone" titled "The Surprise of the Tail" on March 13. Actress Haruka Ayase, the brand's image character, continues to appear in the commercial.
The commercial begins with a digest of Ayase, now in her 14th year as the image character, digging into Giant Cone over the years. Ayase mentions having a new discovery while eating the newly updated Giant Cone. She eats her way through the "head" topped with chocolate and nuts, then the ice cream, and the cone, finally reaching the secret "tail."
The new "tail" features a "Happiness Chocolate Pool" with increased chocolate. Ayase takes a big bite of the tail and maintains a satisfied expression right to the end.
In a post-shoot interview, Ayase smiled and said, "The scene where I bite into the Giant Cone was surprisingly difficult, but I've gotten better at it in my 14th year." She added, "I bit into it a lot this time too. It's packed with chocolate all the way to the tip, so you can enjoy it right to the end. Please give it a try, everyone."
