JAXA has launched the "Second Call for Ideas on Daily-Use Items Solving Common Challenges in Space and Earth Life" starting August 2. This new initiative, launched in 2020, aims to create products and services that enhance life both in space and on Earth, starting from challenges in space living.
Household items ultimately deemed suitable for deployment through this call for ideas are intended for use by astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, scheduled to stay at the International Space Station (ISS) in 2023 or later, and subsequent astronauts.

[Call for Proposals]
Using the " Space Life Story Book "—a collection of hints for improving daily life compiled from challenges and difficulties encountered in space—as a reference, we are seeking ideas for daily living products that can solve life challenges and improve QOL (Quality of Life) both in space and on Earth, utilizing your company's (including affiliated companies) technologies and know-how.
