The National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan announced on May 15th the television broadcast schedule for the "2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil" to be held in June. Commercial broadcasters and NHK will live broadcast all 64 matches, with commercial broadcasters airing 32 of these matches on terrestrial television.
During the group stage, broadcasts include the opening match "Brazil vs. Croatia," "Japan vs. Greece" (June 20, 6:40 AM - 9:15 AM, Nippon TV Network), "Japan vs. Colombia" (June 25, 4:40 AM - 7:20 AM, TV Asahi Network), and and Russia vs. South Korea, Italy vs. Uruguay.
From the Round of 16 onward, it will broadcast 8 matches, including Japan's potential knockout stage games if they top their group, the "Semi-finals," and the "Third-place Playoff." Additionally, it will schedule numerous daily and weekly highlight programs to convey the tournament's excitement and appeal.
BS Digital will broadcast 16 matches as recorded broadcasts. Scheduled primarily around 11:00 PM and midnight, viewers can catch matches they missed on terrestrial broadcasts.
