The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "Survey of Selected Service Industries" (monthly) released July data for the advertising industry. Sales totaled ¥444.2 billion, a 2.3% increase year-on-year, while the four major media saw a 3.1% decrease. Outside the four major media, "Overseas Advertising" increased by 83.9%, "Outdoor Advertising" by 22.8%, and "Internet Advertising" by 9.6%. Conversely, "SP/PR/Event Planning" decreased by 0.2%, "Insert/Direct Mail" by 1.2%, and "Transportation Advertising" by 2.4%.
