High-end fashion & lifestyle magazine for affluent readers T JAPAN launches next spring
The Asahi Shimbun and Shueisha announced the launch of "T JAPAN The New York Times Style Magazine," the Japanese edition of the cutting-edge fashion and lifestyle magazine "The New York Times Style Magazine," which has a circulation of 1.2 million copies across the United States, in collaboration with The New York Times Company.

At the launch event held in Tokyo on September 1st, Michael Golden, Vice Chairman of The New York Times Company, opened by stating, "We intend to fully support Asahi Shimbun and Shueisha to ensure 'T JAPAN' becomes a great success." Hidehisa Uchida, Editor-in-Chief of the Japanese edition, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch, saying, "We aim to create a magazine that is intelligent, enjoyable, and beautiful."

The New York Times Style Magazine, published by The New York Times Company, was launched in 2004 and is distributed 12 times a year with the Sunday edition of The New York Times. Featuring cutting-edge fashion trends alongside culture, travel, design, luxury, and other content, each issue explores a different theme and is beloved by the U.S.'s affluent intellectual class.
The Japanese edition will launch on March 25 next year. Planned as a targeted media for affluent readers, it will be published approximately four times a year. Editor-in-Chief Hidemi Uchida previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Shueisha's magazine SPUR. The magazine will feature translated articles and original content sourced from Japan. It will be distributed free of charge to a total of 200,000 copies: 160,000 copies in metropolitan areas with a high concentration of households earning over ¥15 million annually, 20,000 copies to practicing physicians in the Kanto, Chubu, and Kansai regions who subscribe to the monthly magazine Medical Asahi, and 20,000 copies to the most valued customers of Shueisha's official fashion e-commerce site, FLAG SHOP.
