Why is this person playing and singing? "Japan Food Festa 2014" held in November

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will holdthe "Japan Food Festa 2014 " event, where visitors can sample representative Japanese foods, on November 1st and 2nd along Marunouchi Naka-dori in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. Now in its third year, this festival aims to let attendees experience the value of "food" and "food culture" produced by agriculture, forestry, and fisheries by offering ingredients and dishes from across Japan for them to actually taste.

On October 2nd, a press conference outlining the festival was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Kasumigaseki, Tokyo. Yasushi Yamaguchi, Director of the Food Service Industry Division, stated, "This event, inspired by Paris's agricultural festival, aims to deepen the bonds between producers and consumers, and between rural and urban communities. We hope to welcome even more visitors than last year and invite them to enjoy Japanese cuisine." The event will also feature the " 3rd Local! Delicious Food Koshien " competition, where dishes are sold and the winning schools are announced. The "Food and Agriculture University Student Awards 2014 " will present the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award to the most outstanding student group involved in food, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. The " 2nd Local Food National Awards" will honor excellent food products utilizing regional food resources. Chefs who have contributed to the promotion of Japanese food culture will also be honored.

 

 

Comedian Razor Ramon RG, serving as the "Local Delicacies National Grand Prix" Special Supporter, appeared at the venue. To help energize the event, RG is currently releasing a "47 Prefectures: Local Quirks" support video. On the day, he performed part of it live with guitar accompaniment, drawing laughter from the audience.
