The Birth of a Nagoya Icon Fighting Evil "Golden Shachihoko Legend 'Grand Spear'" Begins Broadcast

Tokai Television began airing the local hero program "Golden Shachi Legend 'Grand Spear' (produced by the same production committee: Ubon, Dentsu Inc. Chubu Branch, Tokai Television Broadcasting) in the Tokai region starting October 5th. (Every Saturday, 10:55 AM - 11:25 AM)

The show is thoroughly committed to its "local" roots, using Nagoya dialect not only for the filming locations and cast but also for the dialogue and theme song. Even the hero's transformation battle cry is "Maa-kan!" (meaning "Absolutely unacceptable! Unforgivable!").

The protagonist is Taiga Obito, a student at Aichi University. During the Warring States period, the "Hado Stone"—a power capable of destroying the world—was brought from China. The story depicts the battle between the demon god Osogai and his followers, who seek to obtain this sealed Hado Stone and bring about the world's destruction, and the golden shachi warrior "Grand Spear," into which Obito transforms. Following Season 1 (13 episodes total) airing within the year, Season 2 is also scheduled for broadcast.
