Enjoy Together, Regardless of Ability "Tokyo Universal Sports 3 Days" Event Held

During the "Sports Festival Tokyo 2013" period, the "Tokyo Universal Sports 3 Days" (October 9-11) was held between the National Sports Festival and the National Sports Festival for Persons with Disabilities, bridging the two events. Under the concept "Let's enjoy sports together, whether you have a disability or not!!", events were held at various locations throughout Tokyo, including around the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

The "Universal Jog in Shinjuku" event on the 10th saw participation from Tokyo Governor Naoki Inose, Paralympian athlete Mami Sato, Olympic boxing medalist Satoshi Shimizu, and others. They jogged around the Metropolitan Government Building alongside able-bodied participants and wheelchair runners.

Governor Inose made the "Tokyo Universal Sports Declaration," stating, "Tokyo pledges to become a sports city where everyone, regardless of disability, can enjoy sports anytime, anywhere." Projection mapping displayed various sports scenes on the wall of the Metropolitan Assembly Building.

Additionally, from the 9th to the 11th, "Let's Start Sports!" events were held at 10 venues across Tokyo, including public sports facilities and special needs schools. Participants experienced sports like soccer, gymnastics, and beach volleyball alongside guest athletes and instructors.

Yurito, appointed as Tokyo's "Sports Promotion Ambassador," also cheered on the event.
